My Name is Shanti and I am deeply passionate to learn and share the wisdoms I have gathered through extensive explorations of Yoga, and meditation. Not only has yoga changed my life it continues to do so in ever evolving ways.

More than a livelihood yoga for me is a way of living and being. I love to Share the magic and the mystery that these profound sacred traditions hold. I want to show you that yoga is not just a set of postures you do on a sticky mat. Yoga is an inner science of self discovery, From how you Breathe, to how you move, From how you feel to how you think.

If you want to really understand what living is  you have to be willing to look within.

My wish for you would be that  you will find the mystery you already are, waiting to take you deeper into your own hearts desires.

About Shanti

I am Shanti Meera and I Love assisting people who are looking for answers find those answers within themselves through the teachings of Yoga. These time tested practises can show you how to feel at home in your body and in the world.

I am trained through the International Yoga teachers association with 10 years teaching experience. My own yoga practise has spanned 20 years and it has been a saving grace, physically and mentally many times over. I have since worked with and studied many lineages of yoga to find my own unique blend of what works for me, and my intention is to help you find yours !

Introduced to the practices by my Mother, yoga provided me with tools to manage my own highly anxious nature, and replace negative habits with a gentle mindful presence. As a young adult I spent years living and working at a Meditation centre. Meditation lies at the heart of  yogic philosophy and my practise here instilled in me an unshakable inner balance.

Shanti is a wonderful Yoga teacher. She challenges you to come out of the comfort zone but at the same time allows you to enjoy the silent moments in the pose. She has great knowledge of eastern philosophy and has a holistic approach to Yoga.

Perfection amidst the chaos

Manjushri is a Bodhisattva considered the personification of the combined wisdom of all the Buddhas. He holds a sword in his right hand — symbolizing his ability to cut through delusion. In his left hand, by his heart, he holds the stem of a lotus flower, which bears a book — the Perfection of Wisdom […]

Re-Love-ution

Tonglen is a breathing meditation practise from the Buddhist tradition. The word means Giving and taking, and the technique is a practise of active compassion. We’ve all seen the memes ‘Breathe in the Good, Breath out the bad’ tonglen turns that on it’s head. We Choose to breathe in pain and suffering, to acknowledge and […]

Living Stories

What if your life was a story you were telling? What would you like it to say? All the choices we make, what we say, do and think have a powerful effect on the world around us. In this post-Factual world in can be easy to become obsessive about the truth, and caught up in […]

Consciousness and Bliss

“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,
But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity,
Where past and future are gathered. Neither movement from nor towards,
Neither ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still point,
There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.”
~ T.S. Eliot, The Four Quartets

Fear-less-ness Bunnies and Breathing

So instead of facing my fears, I’m learning to dance with them. Instead of this ideal of an absolute state of fearlessness, I’m simply looking to fear less. When I catch myself in fearful thinking I shift my focus to my breathing, to this intimate, continuous moment to moment conversation with life itself. This involves both give and take, fullness and emptiness, between these two fulcrums life itself turns.

WHAT LIVES IN US

“If you put your hands on this oar with me, they would no longer lift anything to your mouth that might wound your precious land- that sacred earth that is your body. If you put your soul against this oar with me, the power that made the universe will enter your sinew from a source […]

The yoga of Growing through pain

Pain can be physical, emotional or mental, it can be chronic or acute, whatever the case the fear of the pain can be just as bad or worse than the pain itself. Once your caught up in the stories and resistance it can be really hard to see things rationally and clearly. In my research I’ve come up with this 3 step strategy to safely and bravely navigate my way through any painful experience, maybe it’s helpful to you also.

The art of tying yourself in knots.

You know the saying “in a bind”, referring to finding oneself stuck in a difficult, or awkward situation? Well Yes it is a bit like that, but when we carefully chose “how, where, and when” we apply stress to an asana we can use it as a tool to develop and understand desired outcomes and effects.

Fierce Gods

Perhaps the symbology of Narasimha, is an invitation to the pure mindedness of an animal, ( ferocious ever watchful hunter). Can we allow this energy to move through us, to act powerfully potently with our human hands and hearts to effect meaningful change? Can we surrender our egoic desire for control into the wild power of life itself, knowing it has the power to tear us to shreds ?

In beauty

Whatever it is your doing right now, do it in beauty where you can.  Eagle Poem To pray you open your whole self To sky, to earth, to sun, to moon To one whole voice that is you. And know there is more That you can’t see, can’t hear; Can’t know except in moments Steadily […]

I love Shanti’s classes, she has so much wisdom to share, articulates yogic poses excellently and I love winding down at the end with her guided meditations :~)
