and over 20 years of Personal Practise

My Name is Shanti and I am deeply passionate to learn and share the wisdoms I have gathered through extensive explorations of Yoga, and meditation. Not only has yoga changed my life it continues to do so in ever evolving ways.

More than a livelihood yoga for me is a way of living and being. I love to Share the magic and the mystery that these profound sacred traditions hold. I want to show you that yoga is not just a set of postures you do on a sticky mat. Yoga is an inner science of self discovery, From how you Breathe, to how you move, From how you feel to how you think.

If you want to really understand what living is  you have to be willing to look within.

My wish for you would be that  you will find the mystery you already are, waiting to take you deeper into your own hearts desires.

About Shanti

I am Shanti Meera and I Love assisting people who are looking for answers find those answers within themselves through the teachings of Yoga. These time tested practises can show you how to feel at home in your body and in the world.

I am trained through the International Yoga teachers association with 10 years teaching experience. My own yoga practise has spanned 20 years and it has been a saving grace, physically and mentally many times over. I have since worked with and studied many lineages of yoga to find my own unique blend of what works for me, and my intention is to help you find yours !

Introduced to the practices by my Mother, yoga provided me with tools to manage my own highly anxious nature, and replace negative habits with a gentle mindful presence. As a young adult I spent years living and working at a Meditation centre. Meditation lies at the heart of  yogic philosophy and my practise here instilled in me an unshakable inner balance.

Shanti is a wonderful Yoga teacher. She challenges you to come out of the comfort zone but at the same time allows you to enjoy the silent moments in the pose. She has great knowledge of eastern philosophy and has a holistic approach to Yoga.

Mindfulness in Motion

Mindfulness in Motion

“Let’s take it slow because some of the good things in life are worthy of reverence and appreciation. Let’s take it slow because what we have is like a cross-country ride, where all the breathtaking scenes must be breathed in and stared at with wonder. Let’s take it slow because getting to know you is like a trip to a museum where things, both wonderful and gruesome, are waiting to be discovered. Let’s take it slow because some things are best done at a leisurely pace” ― Nessie Q., Snippets of Imagery

Song

I am what they did not tell me and I knew. Oh, I wanted everything to be mine! I am everything I have already lost. But everything’s elusive like the wind and the river, like the golden summer flowers that die in your hands. I am everything, but nothing, nothing is mine, not the pain, […]

About Me:

I believe that Yoga is more than just exercise; it uses whats always right here – our body and breath to create a living experience of the power which flows through us as life itself. I am Shanti Meera and I am a yoga teacher, IYTA* trained with 7 years teaching experience. I love helping […]

everything is temporary

“Like vanishing dew, a passing apparition or the sudden flash of lightning — already gone — thus should one regard one’s self.” ~Ikkyu

Slow Deep & Sweet

This is not glamorous complicated yoga, it is time to be intimate with your own body, breath and life. Let it be a simple practise stripped back to give you space to discover the wonder that you already are.

The Love of Silence

I still have my own inner demons and fears that my mind likes to dance with, But I also know that it’s okay, totally madly deeply okay. I know that living in this seemingly complicated world it’s all too easy to forget, so lets remind each other when ever we can; With our words but also with our silences, with our smiles, our bodies, our breathes, and every bit of our being! xo

What you really want

“There is a Zen story about a man riding a horse that is galloping very quickly. Another man, standing alongside the road, yells at him, “Where are you going?” and the man on the horse yells back, “I don’t know. Ask the horse.” I think that is our situation. We are riding many horses that we cannot control.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Meditation & Making Peace with God and Guru

I’ve recently begun teaching meditation and I’m really enjoying it a lot. Apart from getting to share something I love deeply, It’s inspired me to look back at my own journey with Meditation and how it has shaped me. The opportunity to share this practise, that has been so instrumental in my own life, has […]

Open Door

Somedays the internet is one big open door to a whole cosmos of information, connections, co-incidences and strange electronic intimacies. I have many Ideas and plans for personal, interesting, detailed blogs I’d like to write you, but time; (being most likely an illusion) persistent and relentless turns everything into this. Small meaningful manageable mess of […]

A whole lot of Nothing

“It could be argued that those who sit quietly and do nothing are making one of the best possible contributions to a world in turmoil.” ~ Alan Watts Somedays no matter what you do nothing happens, you can’t stop it, it’s just the way life is. It happens over and over again, until one day you […]

I love Shanti’s classes, she has so much wisdom to share, articulates yogic poses excellently and I love winding down at the end with her guided meditations :~)
