My Name is Shanti and I am deeply passionate to learn and share the wisdoms I have gathered through extensive explorations of Yoga, and meditation. Not only has yoga changed my life it continues to do so in ever evolving ways.

More than a livelihood yoga for me is a way of living and being. I love to Share the magic and the mystery that these profound sacred traditions hold. I want to show you that yoga is not just a set of postures you do on a sticky mat. Yoga is an inner science of self discovery, From how you Breathe, to how you move, From how you feel to how you think.

If you want to really understand what living is  you have to be willing to look within.

My wish for you would be that  you will find the mystery you already are, waiting to take you deeper into your own hearts desires.

About Shanti

I am Shanti Meera and I Love assisting people who are looking for answers find those answers within themselves through the teachings of Yoga. These time tested practises can show you how to feel at home in your body and in the world.

I am trained through the International Yoga teachers association with 10 years teaching experience. My own yoga practise has spanned 20 years and it has been a saving grace, physically and mentally many times over. I have since worked with and studied many lineages of yoga to find my own unique blend of what works for me, and my intention is to help you find yours !

Introduced to the practices by my Mother, yoga provided me with tools to manage my own highly anxious nature, and replace negative habits with a gentle mindful presence. As a young adult I spent years living and working at a Meditation centre. Meditation lies at the heart of  yogic philosophy and my practise here instilled in me an unshakable inner balance.

Shanti is a wonderful Yoga teacher. She challenges you to come out of the comfort zone but at the same time allows you to enjoy the silent moments in the pose. She has great knowledge of eastern philosophy and has a holistic approach to Yoga.

Pure and Simple Yoga

When people ask about my recent month long yoga retreat, they often ask me if I learnt lot’s of new tricks. And to be honest I probably had some expectations myself that I would, but the short answer is: not so much. Not because I didn’t learn but because what I learnt wasn’t tricks it […]

The joy of being alone

“Solitude is independence. It had been my wish and with the years I had attained it. It was cold. Oh, cold enough! But it was also still, wonderfully still and vast like the cold stillness of space in which the stars revolve.” ― Hermann Hesse Image: Albarrán Cabrera The Mouth of Krishna Japan, 2014. #241. […]

Movement as medicine

“Movement is medicine and I trust that if you put your psyche in motion it will heal itself.” ~ Gabrielle Roth The body is made for movement, movement is your first language. It is your first experience of expression or interacting with the world around you. A movement based healing practise takes you back to […]

Holiday Art Play

The weather in paradise has turned a bit windy so enjoying some time for some creative expression. You might have heard of chanting Aum, but repeating the written form of the symbol can induce many of the same benefits. The practise is called Likhita Japa and it’s really quite soothing. I tried to write Shanti […]

A Fistful of Flowers – Tapiwa Mugabe

A fistful of flowers for all complicated lives just dying to be simple. And when you hurdle those obstacles, and your flowers are crushed from holding on dearly… lay down the petals for your past and walk away smelling like a bouquet of God’s marvellous creations. (via tapiwamugabe)

Tibetan Prayer from Light the Flame.

From today onward Until the attainment of enlightenment May I be willing To live with my chaos and confusion And that of all other sentient beings. May I be willing To share our mutual confusion And work incessantly and humbly To help and elevate everyone without exception. (via aumunlimited)

I love Shanti’s classes, she has so much wisdom to share, articulates yogic poses excellently and I love winding down at the end with her guided meditations :~)
