and over 20 years of Personal Practise

My Name is Shanti and I am deeply passionate to learn and share the wisdoms I have gathered through extensive explorations of Yoga, and meditation. Not only has yoga changed my life it continues to do so in ever evolving ways.

More than a livelihood yoga for me is a way of living and being. I love to Share the magic and the mystery that these profound sacred traditions hold. I want to show you that yoga is not just a set of postures you do on a sticky mat. Yoga is an inner science of self discovery, From how you Breathe, to how you move, From how you feel to how you think.

If you want to really understand what living is  you have to be willing to look within.

My wish for you would be that  you will find the mystery you already are, waiting to take you deeper into your own hearts desires.

About Shanti

I am Shanti Meera and I Love assisting people who are looking for answers find those answers within themselves through the teachings of Yoga. These time tested practises can show you how to feel at home in your body and in the world.

I am trained through the International Yoga teachers association with 10 years teaching experience. My own yoga practise has spanned 20 years and it has been a saving grace, physically and mentally many times over. I have since worked with and studied many lineages of yoga to find my own unique blend of what works for me, and my intention is to help you find yours !

Introduced to the practices by my Mother, yoga provided me with tools to manage my own highly anxious nature, and replace negative habits with a gentle mindful presence. As a young adult I spent years living and working at a Meditation centre. Meditation lies at the heart of  yogic philosophy and my practise here instilled in me an unshakable inner balance.

Shanti is a wonderful Yoga teacher. She challenges you to come out of the comfort zone but at the same time allows you to enjoy the silent moments in the pose. She has great knowledge of eastern philosophy and has a holistic approach to Yoga.

What’s going on?

Most of you will know that I’ve been thinking about finding a studio space for a while now, Some of you will know that while I was traveling we lost the use of our yoga room in the village court, Many of you naturally are curious about what’s going on. The loss of our space […]

All the Hemispheres

Change rooms in your mind for a day.

All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.

Why am I here?

So here I am in India again, the motherland of Yoga, and What on earth am I doing here? You may have heard me refer to my travels as a ‘holiday’, the term though is little misleading for what I actually intend. You probably know by now that intention matters in yoga (and in life), […]

The Small matter of Living

The art and act of living is complex and consuming. When we get caught up in the details it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture, of who and what we really are, the living miracle of stardust wrapped in skin. It’s easy to miss the existent mystery of bodies and breath, each moment. Of the earth taking form, given life, walking and talking as us.

Becoming Shanti

Becoming Shanti

Neuroscientist Peggy La Cerra, Ph.D. says; “Our name is our social identifier, a placeholder in the minds and brains of others for the neural accountings of our value to them. When someone changes their name, it is a signal that a new neural archive is to be kept on this person — and previous memories have to been re-filed. In that sense, people can wipe their slates clean and be born again.”

Courage Dear Heart

The most important thing is to find out what the most important thing is. There I said it, thats all you need to know. Yet in The world of ten thousand things, how hard is it to focus in on any one? Finding the most important thing is not something anyone else can do for […]

Choc Raspberry & Macadamia Truffles (vegan)

This is my new go to truffle for all occasions. This is fairly simple and easy to make and I think the recipe will be fairly adaptable to adjustments according to taste and texture preferences.

Keeping on. Yoga & the Practise of resilience

The very definition of Yoga from Patanjali’s yoga sutra’s is “yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind”. But when we live treading water in those waves of the mind how could we possibly learn to still them?

Well patanajali’s condensed answer is another 195 sutras, it’s no simple matter. Yet all hail to the ancient yogi’s there is a map and through it’s study and application to my internal landscape I’m discovering a whole new world.

Prayer & Wisdom of the first peoples

Modern culture is quick to asses itself as advanced and everything else as primitive. Yet the test of time is probably the most pressing of all. Bypassing the ancient wisdoms indigenous cultures contain is like the know it all teenager who won’t listen to experience. New Age philosophies and quantum physics are coming to similar […]

You Win

You won’t always feel it, heaven knows there are days when you feel the exact opposite. When things feel so stacked against you it seems all is lost, forever. However…. Perspective is a powerful thing. When you think of the probability of any of us being alive here at all, were all winners. What a beautiful […]

I love Shanti’s classes, she has so much wisdom to share, articulates yogic poses excellently and I love winding down at the end with her guided meditations :~)
