My Name is Shanti and I am deeply passionate to learn and share the wisdoms I have gathered through extensive explorations of Yoga, and meditation. Not only has yoga changed my life it continues to do so in ever evolving ways.

More than a livelihood yoga for me is a way of living and being. I love to Share the magic and the mystery that these profound sacred traditions hold. I want to show you that yoga is not just a set of postures you do on a sticky mat. Yoga is an inner science of self discovery, From how you Breathe, to how you move, From how you feel to how you think.

If you want to really understand what living is  you have to be willing to look within.

My wish for you would be that  you will find the mystery you already are, waiting to take you deeper into your own hearts desires.

About Shanti

I am Shanti Meera and I Love assisting people who are looking for answers find those answers within themselves through the teachings of Yoga. These time tested practises can show you how to feel at home in your body and in the world.

I am trained through the International Yoga teachers association with 10 years teaching experience. My own yoga practise has spanned 20 years and it has been a saving grace, physically and mentally many times over. I have since worked with and studied many lineages of yoga to find my own unique blend of what works for me, and my intention is to help you find yours !

Introduced to the practices by my Mother, yoga provided me with tools to manage my own highly anxious nature, and replace negative habits with a gentle mindful presence. As a young adult I spent years living and working at a Meditation centre. Meditation lies at the heart of  yogic philosophy and my practise here instilled in me an unshakable inner balance.

Shanti is a wonderful Yoga teacher. She challenges you to come out of the comfort zone but at the same time allows you to enjoy the silent moments in the pose. She has great knowledge of eastern philosophy and has a holistic approach to Yoga.

Finding time in every breath

Finding time in every breath

The first thing you do when you are born is breathe it will be the last thing you do before you die, in-between it’s your constant companion and a living reminder that the essence of life is change. Learning to traverse it’s ebb and flow with grace and presence can teach you everything you need to know about navigating the ever-changing tides of fortune. If your breathing your alive and if your alive; You do have time!

The Answer Right Under Your Nose

The Answer Right Under Your Nose

The secret of yoga happens to also be the secret of living. And Truth be told it’s not really all that secret, everybody knows about it, but it’s value is most often overlooked, even in the yoga world.
The secret of Living, is Breathing. Yoga without breath awareness is missing it’s most vital life-giving component. Breath is our primary energy source, how can we expect to live well if we are not breathing well?

Intentionality, life on Point

What would you do if you believed you could do anything? What is it that would be worth doing with your life, regardless of success or failure? What is it that stops you in your quest for what you really want? Why is it despite our best intentions change is so very hard to come by?

Practical principles for Mastery of Mind, from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras

I have really enjoyed our dive into the wild depths the Yoga Sutras, It is fascinating to me that 2000 years ago the nature of mind was not so very different than today. Mind is multi-dimensional, extremely subtle and hard to pin down. Science is just beginning to catch up on how much influence the ‘Mind over Matter’ principle really has.

Stitching together the threads of the Mind

The Yoga sutras are attributed to Patanjali, who he was/is a subject of some debate. Could be a wise sage, could be a group of scholars, could be a 1/2 man 1/2 snake mythological divine being. Whoever he was the most astounding fact is the clarity and relevance of this ancient text still holds today.

Practical Perspectives for Mastery of Mind

Yoga To Blow Your Own Mind! It is said Yoga is 99% practise and 1% theory, the idea is doing it is way more powerful than thinking about it. However to be successful in your practise it’s helpful to know at least what Yoga is, this understanding is no small matter. Hint, its not just […]

Whole-heartedness, and the Yoga of Sankalpa

Part 2,  Component capacities to create change. So many people these days live with an edge of constant exhaustion. Busy lives, and increasing demands on time and attention make it harder to find time to find any focus or clarity or meaning in our day to day lives. “You know the antidote to exhaustion is […]

The Anatomy of Energy

Part 1; The Currency of Living Energy, We’ve all heard the word and have a basic understanding of the concept. We all feel it’s lack sometimes, and look for ways to get a little more. But how do you define it? When was the last time you looked closely at your relationship to this currency […]

Falling down a hole

Personal Reflections on using your practise to heal from injury I know that what I want to happen isn’t always the best thing for me. The yoga of being flexible is not just a physical practise. Being flexible of mind and spirit is a much more interesting challenge. Sri K Pattabhi Jois said “body not […]

The Nature of Yoga & the journey within

While I was recently in Rishikesh, India, I spent a luxurious amount of time sitting on the Banks of The Ganges. The locals call her Ma Ganga and to them she is a living Goddess. Immersed in this constant flow, the river while ever-changing is also somehow unchanging. This paradox like a zen koan, would […]

I love Shanti’s classes, she has so much wisdom to share, articulates yogic poses excellently and I love winding down at the end with her guided meditations :~)
